HOW THIS BOOK CAME TO BE
When bandleader Michael Arenella held his first Jazz Age Lawn Party in 2005, he had no idea it would become one of the premier events of the city’s busy summer season. Today, hundreds of participants in extravagant dress come together on beautiful Governors Island to journey back in time and revel in the spirit and joy of the jazz age.
When Linda Secondari, book developer and Jazz Age devotee, visited the Jazz Age Lawn Party for the first time in 2017, she thought, “This event needs to be memorialized for the ages! We need to make a coffee table book!”
And so the dynamic duo of Michael Arenella & Linda Secondari are teaming up to create a luxurious coffee table book filled with magnificent photos and exciting stories of the history of the JALP and the Jazz Age.
