Aldus Manutius & the Paperback
Aldus Manutius (c.1450–1515) was the father of modern publishing. Born near Rome, he moved to Venice in the 1490s, where he formed the Aldine Press. The Aldine Press premiered an immensely popular new format well-designed editions of the secular classics Manutius called libelli portatiles, or portable little books because they easily fit in the hand of the reader, the first paperbacks.

Life + Death at Ground Zero: 20 Years Later
I heard the blast three blocks away, and I felt a sonic wave pass through my home and body. The story that follows is true; it happened to me. I have written to document for myself and later, for my son, the strange, horrible, miraculous, and beautiful events of September 11 and beyond.

I like to Belong.
I think we all do. It feels good to find a group of people who share your interests. I belong to a number of organizations and groups—each feeds my soul in its own way.

Looking Back at 2020
I am eager to race into 2021 and close the door on 2020! At the same time it is important to reflect on and celebrate what was accomplished in 2020 (despite significant odds!)
